MÀQUINA DE TURING LAUNCH THEIR NEW ALBUM AT THE COUNTER SUMMIT OF THE MINISTERS OF CULTURE OF THE EU IN BARCELONA

THE LAUNCH WILL TAKE PLACE AT 7PM AT FOSSAR DE LES MORERES, the historic square in Barcelona’s Borne area.

At the high point of the Counter-Summit, veteran electronic music group Màquina de Turing will bring us the launch of their new album with a truly tempting live show.

The collective have decided on an innovative formula that they will put to the test: everybody that goes to the concert will be able to buy, at a very reasonable price, a specially designed and prepared CD. But it will be blank. If you enjoy the concert, when you get home you will be able to
download the music and burn the CD yourself.

This interesting initiative by Màquina de Turing should satisfy all kinds of audiences – fetishists or collectors who miss CDs as physical objects and don’t mind paying for them, and users with less money who prefer to be able to listen to music without restrictions, because the CD will be available for downloading free through the net.

Creators just have to put their brain cells to work with a bit of imagination and find new formulas. Audiences will make it their business to reward good ideas.

The Returns of Culture

The (D’)Evolution Summit was a civil society meeting to open the minds of the European Community Ministers of Culture, who had gathered in Barcelona for an Informal Meeting in the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union.

On March 30 and 31 the Ministers of Culture of the 27 European Union member states brought to a close the European Forum for Cultural Industries.

Although we weren’t invited to the official event, the creative community and civil society organised three days of activities to show our proposed culture for the digital era: a model of culture that benefits everybody – citizens and creators – a model that stimulates creativity and not just profit, and, above all, one that does not attack the Internet.

We invited Ministers, participants attending the Forum of Cultural Industries, the media and anybody who wanted to come, to participate in the (D') Evolution Summit.
